“Under fantastic new management!”
My family & I visited the new and much improved Old Vine for dinner and drinks last Sunday. The décor of the pub now looks fantastic and has a cosy, welcome feel to it. We all had a roast dinner and it was delicious, tasted home made not processed or frozen like a lot of pub roast dinners are. All of the desserts were tasty to say the least – not good for the waistline!! The new owners Ian & Sara were the perfect hosts and are proving to be doing a very good job so far, the waitresses and bar staff were equally as good. Ideally located with Bewl Water right behind and dogs are allowed in the pub as long as they are on leads – perfect! All in all we had a lovely afternoon and will certainly be visiting again.

“Charming English Public House with Excellent quality food”
Booked for Friday night, in beautifully newly refurbished room, beds were comfortable, linen fresh and of excellent quality. Everything about the room was perfect.
We ate in the restaurant, food was of a very high standard, portions ample and service exemplary. New owners Ian & Sara seem to have created the perfect Counrty Pub, Restaurant and B & B. We slept well, enjoyed our lovely breakfast and will return.
We will not hesitate to recommend this gem to all our friends both here and abroad.

Had a lovely afternoon in the fabulously newly refurbished Old Vine. Kids were very happy and the food was superb and plentiful. Well done Ian and Sara, who are the perfect hosts. There’s nothing not to love.
“Glad to see The Old Vine re-open!”
One of our old favourites has reopened after being closed for some time. The place looked fresh and nicely made over. The new management were curious, polite and prompt with their service. We both ate roast dinners one of lamb and one of beef, there was also the choice of chicken and pork all locally sourced! There was a generous amount of other choices on the menu as well as plenty of specials. Our food arrived fairly quickly, generous portions which were well cooked. We look forward to returning for an evening meal to see if they kept up their good work!

“It is all new at The Old Vine.”
Yesterday we had our first sample of Sunday lunch at the refurbished, Old Vine. It was extremely busy but we had very good service and Ian, Sara and the team were charming and efficient. The Sunday roast was very good and hot when it arrived. My only suggestion is that there could be more vegetarian options available. There was only one this Sunday, which was very nice but a choice would also be good. The whole place is clean and freshly painted and is an asset to the community of Cousley Wood. Good luck to them, they have worked so hard to get everything up and running and the results are very promising.
“Lovely evening in the re-opened pub”
It looks like a lot of people are very pleased to see the Old Vine open again, me too! We went last night with some friends for dinner and had a really great evening. It’s been done up beautifully, and had a nice busy atmosphere. The food was superb! And the new landlord was very nice and chatty. Wish them all the best with this pub!

“It’s open again and has it’s old charm back.”
A warm welcome and great food. So good to have our local open again. We had a superb family birthday lunch there today. New owners running a tight ship with great staff.

“Last minute surprise packet !”
We left it a little late to book a room for a one night Saturday stop over and came across the Old Vine Inn on LastRooms.com. What a pleasant surprise! Not expecting anything special – indeed feeling a little apprehensive at our choice – we pulled up at typical English inn. But not so typical inside. No gloomy, heavy wood and clutter of furniture, wall mounted trout and ancient pub signage. The Old Vine is fresh and friendly, contemporary in a 1515 building. Recently reopened by new owners, this is a lovely place to stay. The owners and staff are friendly and rightly proud of their new business. There’s good pub food with fresh, local ingredients . Our room was bright and comfortable. The ensuite came complete with a rain shower over the bath. And to unwind after driving, there’s a delightful walking path . So if like us, you’re looking for a stop over or you just want to escape the city for the weekend, you’ll be happy and welcomed at the Old Vine.
